Reporting serves several purposes, it informs and assists the user in carrying out their duties, as well as to highlight areas of over or under performance. Reporting works well when managed centrally in a self-serve model, a report designer creates and updates templates for the user to select various filters to fit their requirements.

Power Bi provides good responsive Dashboard functionality suitable for KPIs and summary level information, it benefits from easy access on mobile devices through it's own app.
Excel's flexibility and ease of use still make it a staple of any finance function, it still has its place for ad hoc analysis, reporting and small-scale data transformations.
Good database design provides accuracy, accessibility and reliability. I've worked in SQL Server Managment Studio as well as MS Access to create databases to store and process key department and company information.
Dynamics is an accounting transaction system providing a desktop user front-end and SQL database back-end. It's possible to overlay a reporting system or data warehouse for better accessibility to the finance data.
